Farewelling Margie Welsford

 Janet Clarke Hall warmly congratulates Margie Welsford on her appointment as Vice Master and Executive Director of Student Life at Ormond College at the University of Melbourne.

Whilst Margie and her family will be sorely missed by all within the Janet Clarke Hall community, we wish her well for this exciting new professional opportunity.

Margie has been Deputy Principal of JCH since 2018, serving as Interim Principal in 2022 and Acting Principal in 2019. She was previously the Warden of Whitley College for twelve years and Chair of the Melbourne Heads of Colleges from 2015 to 2016. A Registered Psychologist, she has extensive leadership experience and pastoral expertise, including through previous work as a school psychologist.

There will be opportunities for members of our community to farewell Margie and celebrate her contributions to Janet Clarke Hall before she leaves in early March 2025.

We will be launching a national search for our new Deputy Principal in the coming weeks and look forward to making a high-calibre appointment to build on Margie's excellent body of work in this important student-facing role.
