Life at Janet Clarke Hall through our students' the eyes of our alumni

The experiences of JCH alumni reflect the breadth and depth of the College community. Their stories show the many paths that begin here, including the arts, sciences, public service, research, community leadership and education. Each reflection highlights how the values of JCH continue to permeate and influence life well after graduation.

I grew up in Yea, a small country town in regional Victoria. Being part of a smaller, intimate community was so important in my first few weeks at Uni. I got a huge shock when I walked into my first Engineering lecture. There would have been 300 plus in the tiered lecture theatre. Luckily, I had one of my mates from JCH to sit next to in this first lecture. Throughout my five years of undergraduate life, it was the friendships and bonds that I made with my JCH buddies that were by far the most important.  Thirty years on – they are still my closest friends.
