Ms Miranda Williams
Teaching areas: Art History, Indigenous Studies, Cultural Studies
Miranda completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne in 2018, majoring in Art History and Indigenous Studies. Having grown up in a regional area with limited access to the arts, she realised she could put her passions to good use after completing her undergraduate degree. This sparked an interest in community arts. Miranda is currently undertaking a Masters of Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Melbourne. Her studies most often focus on ethical engagement for different communities within gallery spaces; with an interest in developing frameworks for mitigating barriers to access that audiences often experience.
Miranda has worked in Vancouver supervising a children’s art studio, volunteers for c3 Contemporary Art Space at the Abbotsford Convent, and also works as Gallery Officer for the regional Wangaratta Art Gallery. She is also interning at No Vacancy Gallery in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, an independent space with very diverse programming and a community outlook. Outside of the artworld, Miranda enjoys being active. She loves bouldering, netball, swimming, and yoga.
