Ms Miranda Williams
Teaching areas: Art History, Indigenous Studies, Cultural Studies
Miranda completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne in 2018, majoring in Art History and Indigenous Studies. Having grown up in a regional area with limited access to the arts, she realised she could put her passions to good use after completing her undergraduate degree. This sparked an interest in community arts, with Miranda currently undertaking a Masters of Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Melbourne. She is planning to write a minor thesis investigating the benefits of community arts for audiences with a focus on visual arts, an area often overlooked within the literature. Miranda has worked in Vancouver supervising a children’s art studio, volunteers for c3 Contemporary Art Space at the Abbotsford Convent, and also works as Gallery Technician for the regional Wangaratta Art Gallery. She is also planning to intern at Craft ACT, who advocate for the importance of contemporary craft in Australia’s artistic landscape (as an avid crafter herself!). Outside of the artworld, Miranda enjoys being active. She loves doing bouldering, netball, swimming, and yoga.
