Dr Anna Goldsworthy
Janet Clarke Hall is proud to have internationally renown pianist, Dr Anna Goldsworthy as our inaugural Kenneth Moore Memorial Music Scholar. Throughout the year, Dr Goldsworthy performs recitals for our benefit. Dr Goldsworthy frequently performs with Australian orchestras and in 2004 completed a triumphant world tour performing in festivals and concert halls in Australia, Asia, Europe and North and South America.
She is a founding member of the Seraphim Trio, which has performed throughout Asia and Europe, and appears regularly in Australia for Musica Viva and at regional music festivals. The trio studied chamber music with Hatto Beyerle in Hanover, and was awarded the prizes for Leading Piano Trio and Audience Choice in the 2001 National Chamber Music Competition.
Anna currently teaches piano at the University of Melbourne. Her writing has appeared in publications such as Best Australian Essays 2007, 2008, and 2009, The Monthly, The Australian, The Australian Book Review and The Australian Literary Review. Anna is also currently Artistic Director of the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival. She records for the ABC Classics label. In 2014, she will be releasing a new memoir, Welcome to Your New Life, and composing the libretto for Victorian Opera's production of The Magic Pudding.
ABC Classics signed Anna to record a CD of music she performed while on tour.
